OK, we're pretty much doomed if this bird flu thing goes pandemic. Why do I say that? Because there are plenty of selfish people who do selfish things like going to the movies when they are impressively sick. Not just a sniffle here and there but massively, drippy, coughing, short on tissues sick! That's what walked into the crowded movie theater this afternoon and chose to sit in the single seat between my my friend and another couple. Fortunately, my friend could move to a seat on the other side but who's to say that we still didn't catch something. Why would someone be so insensitive to others to leave their house when they are obviously sick and infectious? It's one thing for essential functions like food, medicine or critical work situations but to the movies? If this H5N1 goes hot with human to human transmission it's the insensitive, thoughtless, selfish people like this that are going to kill thousands of people by needlessly spreading infection wherever they choose to go.

If your sick, stay home. Thousands of lives may be depending on it. /rant
