Want to try Satellite Radio in your next rental car? What an excellent way to experience a "bite sized chunk" of the service. It's always frustrating to find good broadcast radio when traveling. This will let new prospects try out the service and existing customers to find their favorite channels. Even existing customers of the competing service can try out the competition.
From Cnet:
Vanguard, which operates National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car, will offer XM radio service in certain vehicles for no extra charge. Financial terms of the deal were not released."The rental vehicle is an ideal place for consumers to experience XM Radio firsthand, and we believe that this exposure will lead many of them to get XM for the car, the home and 'on the go'," Paul Kirsch, XM's vice president for OEM, said in a statement.
The challenge is to keep the rental car people from charging extra for the service. We all know how much they like to nickel and dime their customers.

I don't have satellite radio, but the channels are the same across the country? No? Not only are you guaranteed good programming, you don't have to find it.
This is very smart marketing.
