Samsung is doing something interesting in NYC. They are following the lead of Sony who has successfully created brand experience stores. A new retail experience will open in the Time Warner building. Perhaps the most interesting aspect is a lending program that let's tourists or anyone I imagine "borrow" a video cellphone to capture their experience in New York. Return kiosks allow borrowers to burn the video to DVDs to take home.
This is similar to the program I posted about here that has HP partnering with upscale hotels. That program puts HP cameras in the hands of guests to record their stay.
The extended test drive has come to consumer technology. Even car manufacturers are offering overnight test drives. As devices get more complex it's important for prospective customers to have more time to discover and enjoy all those tasty cool features.
