Forbes has a slide show piece titled "Five Robots That Will Change Your Life." I think only one of the robots featured should be included under that title. The Robot RX is a robotic pharmacy system that uses small bar coded medication packets that are sorted and distributed by a robotic arm. Of the Robots listed I think that is the only one with a wide enough application to life changing for a large percentage of the population.

The robot pictured left is their number two pick. A robotic search and rescue tool that can lift and move 1000 lbs. with each arm. Cool but what are the chances one will be in the neighborhood when you need it?

I think the automated checkout robot at the grocery store is a far better albeit less glamorous choice for the list.
