Making the rounds of the auto snow circuit this year is this new Hummerized Jeep concept. Talk about late to the dance. Jeep, one of the founding fathers of the whole SUV culture, has finally come up with an answer to the mighty Hummer H2. When a company takes this long to respond to their competition the question that rings in the air is "Was it worth the wait?"
The Jeep Rescue appears stylistically to be a tentative toe in the water. It looks like a Hummer with a jeep grill on the front. There's no innovation here just imitation.
What's interesting is what's beyond the Hummer H2. Has the Jumbo SUV trend reached the limits of (im)practicality? While companies like Jeep rush to pump up their vehicles to match the size and style of the H2, Hummer(GM) is moving the opposite direction with the introduction of the smaller H3T. Hummer started and owns the market for jumbo SUVs. Now they are looking to bring their brand to the mainstream by introducing smaller vehicles and even lifestyle products like flashlights and shoes. Other vehicle companies are looking to break into the jumbo SUV market by introducing larger and larger vehicles.
Hummer will be more successful than the copycat vehicles. They have built a brand and a mystique that their vehicles and products support. Jeep just built a big jeep that looks like a Hummer. Fortunately, this is just an expensive concept vehicle. If they build it I doubt anyone will come to buy one.
I think many current Jeep owners (self included) will buy it to replace their Jeep Cherokees.

This should be the replacement for the Wrangler!
Compass and Treo concepts are Jeep "Scion" type vehicles that are not going to cut the mustard with Jeep buyers.
Look at the "Commander" sized vehicle they are going to build - THREE ROWS of seats! Put that "Soccer Mom" that needs something of that size on Birth Control! NOW! HUMMER makes a clown car for her already.
Jeep won't produce this vehicle because the little guy with the mustashe back at the bunker in Berlin wants BOMBERS instead of JET FIGHTERS!

A modern version of the stage is seen in some novelty stretch Hummer or Hummer H2 vehicles. Some funeral homes maintain six-door stages to carry the family of the deceased between the church and the cemetery. These are usually not used for private hire.

Yes Jeep is Hummerizating! Because people love brutal and massive SUVs! But I think that Hummer is better than Jeep, cause it has long version, which is more comfortable and luxury!
